What's up Newgrounds. I've now uploaded my first true solo comic strip on the site, which is undeniably huge. I drew all of it today--impressive given that I normally just let my art supplies decay on my desk.
Anywho, as I was drawing Panel #3 I took some photos of both the initial sketch and the lineart. Exclusive behind-the-scenes production art can be found below:

Delightfully rudimentary. You can see that I always start by writing the text first; the worst thing one can do is to draw everyone but leave them no room to say anything. Afterwards, I draw a cruddy circle, a slab for a torso, and begin drawing their poses. Annabeth looks mildly miffed as she thinks of her barbershop flashback; Alice stares blankly with a smile on her face, as she tends to do.

Giant tree added. At this point I'm finally ready for filling in their pupils along with some basic pencil shading. Also, please excuse my poor erasing. I've lost my hi-polymer eraser and have been stuck using cheapo Dollar Tree replacements.
This has been an alnokitchen BEHIND THE SCENES blog post. Thanks for reading.
